Charging Adapter
Charging at a Tesla Supercharger is easy with the NACS Fast Charging Adapter. Simply connect the adapter to a compatible charger, plug into your vehicle, and enjoy all the benefits when you're on the road. The NACS Fast Charging adapter can be purchased at your local Volvo Cars retailer. You can place an order with your retailer immediately.
Not compatible with any AC chargers, including any home or public AC chargers with the North American Charging Standard (NACS) plug type. Read the Adapter Accessories User Guide before use.

Finding Stations
Beginning November 18, 2024, compatible Tesla Supercharger stations can be found using Google Maps built into the vehicle or within the Volvo Cars app. When available, see real time information, including pricing and availability. With Google Maps, Tesla Supercharger stations will be added into your route for fast and efficient charging.
Paying for a
Charging Session
Paying for charging sessions on the Tesla Supercharger Network is easy within the Volvo Cars app. With a public charging account set up, you can see available stations, initiate a charging session, and handle payment with your credit card on file. How to Start & Stop a Charge
with the NACS Fast Charging Adapter
- Locate a compatible charging station either from within your vehicle or the Volvo Cars app
- Attach the adapter to the Tesla Supercharger connector
- Remove the DC port cover on your vehicle’s charge port
- Plug the adapter into your vehicle's charge port, ensuring you hear a click as it locks into place
- Identify the station number of the Supercharger you are parked at and select that number within the Volvo Cars app
- Tap “Start charging”
- When complete, stop the session by unlocking the cable either from the Volvo Cars app, within the center display screen in your vehicle, or the button to the right of the charge port
- Remove the adapter from the car by pressing down on the silver button on the top of the adapter.
- Remove the adapter from the Supercharger cord by pressing down on the cable release tab found underneath where the cord attaches to the adapter

No. Volvo plug-in hybrids can only charge via the J1772 standard. The NACS adapter is only intended for DC fast charging.
No. The NACS adapter is not compatible with Level 1 or Level 2 Alternating Current (AC) chargers, including Tesla Destination Chargers and home chargers with NACS connectors.
The Volvo EX90, EX30, EX40, EC40, XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge can access the network.
Adapters will be included as standard equipment with MY2025 EX90, EX40 and EC40. For existing customers, adapters are available for purchase at your Volvo Cars retailer and will begin shipping on November 18, 2024. Only use an approved adapter for DC fast charging.
Beginning November 18, 2024, you will be able to locate compatible Tesla Supercharger sites for your Volvo car in the Volvo Cars app and your cars built-in Google Maps.
In the Volvo Cars app, there will be a ‘NACS fast charging adapter required’ badge for stations requiring a NACS fast charging adapter to charge at the location.
Generation 3 (V3) and beyond Superchargers will be open to Volvo drivers. Fully electric Volvo drivers will be able to use their Volvo Cars app and in-vehicle Google Maps to locate specific chargers.
